DIFFERENT FUNCTIONALITIES FOR DIFFERENT NEEDS It is possible to use Scandiff2 either in the pre-press department to compare the pdf files or to use it in the production process to detect problems on the offset plate. Scandiff2 can measure the colour variation (delta E) in different phases of the production. Scandiff2 can be used for three different kinds of controls:

  • PDF/PDF - This functionality enables the comparison of the customer’s first pdf file with the same pdf file processed during the pre-printing. It is possible to detect defects introduced by the operator who processes digital files and it is also possible to detect any errors introduced by the file conversion into different formats.
  • PDF/BITMAP - With this feature it is possible to compare the first printing result with the pdf file provided by the customer. It is possible to find out errors which come up during the processing of the plates or clichés.
  • BITMAP/BITMAP - This functionality is useful to compare two different print results. It can be used for comparing one of the labels with all the other labels within a printing format, or for comparing a previous taken printing sample with a new print job.
